Karen Reid-Renner, MD., MPH
Karen Reid-Renner, MD., MPH is a highly trained and qualified Family Medicine Specialist and President of Southern Indiana Family Practice Center and the Medical Director of the newly established Medi Spa-Rejuv Aesthetics, located in Bloomington, Indiana. Trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine internship, and Family Medicine, Dr. Reid-Renner is well trained to treat a wide range of illnesses. Having enjoyed active in-patient privileges at our local four hospitals such as IU Bloomington and Monroe Hospital. In the past, Dr. Reid-Renner is currently strongly committed to providing highly focused, expert outpatient care for her very diverse patient population. To this end, she has been providing such expert care for her patients in the Southern Indiana region for close to 20 years.
As a Family doctor, who is passionate about providing quality patient care, Dr. Reid-Renner places great emphasis on nurturing the doctor-patient relationship. This is paramount, to creating an empowering and healing environment for all her patients. She is affectionately described by many of her patients as a doctor who cares deeply about her patients. She treats everyone as a VIP and always takes time to listen intently to their specific health concerns.
A former native of the beautiful Island of Jamaica, Dr. Reid-Renner received her Undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in Neurobiology and Behavior and Africana Studies. She later received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. Following medical school, Dr. Reid-Renner continued her education at the prestigious Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned her Master’s in Public Health in Maternal and Child Health. Dr. Reid-Renner is also Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Physicians and Surgeons.
In addition to completing an internship in Internal Medicine at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, she has had training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and also completed her residency training in Family Medicine at the Robert Wood Medical Center in New Jersey. Over the past five years, Dr. Reid-Renner has received multiple certifications in such areas as Anti-Aging, Weight Loss/Obesity Care, Advanced Aesthetics, including Advanced Botox, Fillers, Laser Skin Treatment and Bio-Identical Hormone Pellet Therapy.
To better serve her diverse community, Dr. Reid-Renner is conversant in Spanish and has studied Swahili and Quechua. She enjoys traveling and has been to many countries in Europe, South America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
